Big O Tires Recognizes 41 Scholarship Recipients For 2016

To date, the scholarship fund has impacted the lives of more than 240 students by providing more than $370,000 in financial assistance for continuing their education and, ultimately, pursuing their dreams.

Big O Tires - LogoSince 2003, Big O Tires, one of North America’s largest retail tire franchisors with nearly 400 independently-owned and operated locations in 19 states, along with its franchisees, have worked diligently to give back through the Big O Tires Scholarship Fund.

To date, the scholarship fund has impacted the lives of more than 240 students by providing more than $370,000 in financial assistance for continuing their education and, ultimately, pursuing their dreams.

As is customary, at the annual Big O Tires convention all attendees had the opportunity to pay tribute to the importance of educating future generations through the Big O Tires Scholarship Fund. This year, more than $72,000 was raised from participants at the event; more money was raised this year than any other year in the history of the program.

“For 13 years, we have had the opportunity to give back through the Big O Tires Scholarship Fund and every year it just keeps getting better,” said John Kairys, executive vice president and general manager of Big O Tires. “We are proud to support the recipients by providing financial contributions that will assist students as they expand their educational horizons and strive to achieve their professional goals.”

To be eligible, applicants must be employees (or family members) of Big O Tires or of a Big O Tires franchisee who is graduating from high school or currently enrolled in post-secondary education courses. To be considered, applicants must complete an application, submit two essays, supply transcripts and information regarding extracurricular experience, and demonstrate financial need.
