Sherwin-Williams To Celebrate 150 Years Of Innovation And ‘More Than Just Great Paint’ At SEMA 2016

The booth will feature images and examples of historic product advances the company has introduced, as well as how it is a direct distribution paint manufacturer that services the collision industry through more than 190 company-owned stores.

2016 marks a milestone for Sherwin-Williams as it honors its 150th anniversary. Since 1866, Sherwin-Williams says it has strived to focus on seven ideals: integrity, people, service, quality, performance, innovation and growth. Today, not much has changed as the company looks to the values of its founding fathers, which continue to drive Sherwin-Williams success and strength in the market, according to the company.

sherwin-williams-150-logoMany of these ideals will be highlighted at the 2016 SEMA Show, as Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes celebrates its historic anniversary with a salute to the past and a look to the future of the vehicle refinish industry. The booth will feature images and examples of historic product advances the company has introduced, as well as how it is a direct distribution paint manufacturer that services the collision industry through more than 190 company-owned stores. Plus, its company trained Sherwin-Williams professionals provide expertise and best-in-class service directly to shops and shop owners.

According to the company, this all means Sherwin-Williams and its professionals can provide direct, in-shop support to independent and dealership collision facilities and a standardized platform for MSO’s looking for a consistent, repeatable and reliable experience across all markets.

The brand, however, is certainly “more than just great paint,” says the company. The booth will highlight how Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes helps collision repair shops increase revenue by offering a variety of training and on-site consulting services to help grow their business. Shop owners and managers want to be a place where customers come for expert, timely repairs while maximizing profitability by effectively getting vehicles through the facility. Sherwin-Williams says it understands that it takes more than just great products to maximize the potential and profitability of any shop. With this in mind, the company provides business-building programs like its EcoLean workshop series, shop impact assessments, collision repair design services, managed collision repair training and award-winning Vision 20-Groups.

Sherwin-Williams also will be showcasing the new Sherwin-Williams’ Dynamic Clearcoat CC200. The company says this is the launch of an entirely new category among premium clearcoats, and it offers superior appearance in half the time of a typical clearcoat. Delivering consistent premium appearance, without sacrificing productivity, this clearcoat is designed for any painter, application and repair environment. With a fast application time and quick, low-temp bake cycle, CC200 Dynamic Clearcoat will help improve any shop’s productivity and profit, according to Sherwin-Williams.

In kicking off the show, the brand will hold a press conference at 2 p.m. on Nov. 1 in the booth with a vehicle unveiling. The latter will feature NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr., who pilots the No. 17 Ford of Roush-Fenway Racing.

Sherwin-Williams, which is the Official Auto Paint of NASCAR, and Stenhouse Jr., will show off two unique Fords, both entered in SEMA’s 2016 the Battle of the Builders:

1965 Mustang Fastback – features the first-ever Roush Yates-built NASCAR Engine in a street car. The engine will produce 850 hp at 9000 rpm. The car is up for Muscle Machine of the Year in 2017.

1934 Ford Pickup – It’s a hot rod with sports car driving characteristics as it’s powered by a 620 hp LSX454 and features a custom built frame, bed, hood and lower half of the cab from scratch.

In addition to the special show cars, the Sherwin-Williams exhibit will feature daily booth giveaways for Yeti Tundra 45 coolers. One winner will be chosen each day.

Sherwin-Williams also will have several of its business consultants on-hand to provide expert insight on some of the most relevant and meaningful topics in the SCRS Repair Drive Education Series:

  • Lee Rush – “Family Business Succession – The Family Component,” 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 1
