Valspar Automotive Serving Up ‘Sweet’ Custom Rides At SEMA Show

Featured vehicles in the company's booth (No. 10851, North Hall) include a 1950 Studebaker Dragster in Matrix Automotive Finishes by Tony Lanesky of Anton's Hot Rod Shop of Cleveland, and a 1978 Pontiac Trans Am in Prospray Finishes by John Wargo of The Custom Shop in Flanagan, Illinois.

Valspar Automotive will serve up its “sweetest” custom rides yet at the 2016 SEMA Show, Nov. 1-4, at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Featured vehicles in the company’s booth (No. 10851, North Hall) will include a 1950 Studebaker Dragster in Matrix Automotive Finishes by Tony Lanesky of Anton’s Hot Rod Shop of Cleveland, a 1978 Pontiac Trans Am in Prospray Finishes by John Wargo of The Custom Shop in Flanagan, Illinois, and a custom trike in Matrix colors from Las Vegas’ notorious Counts Kustoms and History’s “Counting Cars.”

valspar-matters-logoThe fourth and final vehicle will be announced Tuesday, Nov. 1, day one of the show. “We’re keeping this vehicle under wraps until then,” said Laura Yerkey, director of marketing, Valspar Automotive. “The news will truly impact the refinish market on a global level and solve a major industry problem.”

Three additional vehicles will represent Valspar Automotive and its brands in various locations on the grounds outside of the Las Vegas Convention Center: a 1958 Plymouth Belvedere in Prospray Finishes by John Wargo of The Custom Shop in Flanagan, Illinois; a 1967 Ford Mustang in Matrix Automotive Finishes by Brandon Knowles of Brand-X-Customs in Everett, Washington; and a 1947 Ford Pickup in Valspar Refinish by Bo Vescio of Vescio Customizing & Restoration in Minneapolis.

“We receive a lot of submissions throughout the year for SEMA vehicles,” said Yerkey. “All are truly amazing ground up builds finished in our paint brands, which makes the decision very difficult for us. It seems like it gets harder and harder each year, because the builds are even more amazing. This year’s vehicles are truly the best of the best.”

All body repairs made to Valspar Automotive’s SEMA 2016 feature vehicles have been done using products from the U.S. Chemical & Plastics line, booth No. 10653.
