PPG Marks 30 Years Of Coatings Application Development At Flint, Michigan, Center

Since 1985, the Flint site has served as a testing center where automotive manufacturers and PPG can assess coatings products and processes before adding them to a production environment.

ppg - logoPPG Industries recently marked 30 years of developing and testing automotive coatings products and processes at its application development center complex in Flint, Michigan.

“The Flint center has helped us become the world leader in transportation coatings by offering both PPG and our customers an opportunity to see exactly how technologies will work in manufacturing operations,” said Cindy Niekamp, PPG senior vice president, automotive original equipment manufacturer (OEM) coatings. “We are very proud to reach this 30-year milestone and excited to complete upgrades that will support future industry innovations.”

Since 1985, the Flint site has served as a testing center where automotive manufacturers and PPG can assess coatings products and processes before adding them to a production environment. Three technology centers in the complex enable PPG experts to work directly with customers on testing and evaluating various coatings technologies on customer parts prior to line trial or launch.
