Johnson Controls Awarded Two J.D. Power 2015 Automotive Seating Overall Satisfaction Awards

In the Luxury SUV segment, Johnson Controls ranked highest for its seats supplied to the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque. Johnson Controls also ranked highest in the Mass Market Midsize/Large Car segment for the seats it provides for the Kia Cadenza.

Johnson-Controls-LogoJohnson Controls has been recognized for providing the highest-quality seats in two vehicle segments, Luxury SUV and Mass Market Midsize/Large Car, in the annual J.D. Power 2015 Seat Quality and Satisfaction Study.

Power validates our efforts to build high-quality seating products,” said Beda Bolzenius, vice chairman of Johnson Controls Asia Pacific and president of Automotive Seating. “Our team strives to provide our automaker customers with superior automotive seating products that exceed comfort, safety and sustainability requirements.”

In the Luxury SUV segment, Johnson Controls ranked highest for its seats supplied to the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque. The seats are manufactured at the company’s Halewood, U.K., plant. Johnson Controls also ranked highest in the Mass Market Midsize/Large Car segment for the seats it provides for the Kia Cadenza, which are manufactured at the company’s Asan, Korea, plant.

In addition, Johnson Controls was ranked in the top three for four other vehicle seat segments, including the:

  • Mass Market Midsize/Large Car segment for its Toyota Camry seats manufactured in Georgetown, Kentucky
  • Luxury SUV segment for seats in the Porsche Cayenne manufactured in Bratislava, Slovakia, and Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class manufactured in Rastatt, Germany
  • Mass Market Midsize/Large SUV segment for its Toyota Venza seats manufactured in Georgetown, Kentucky

The 2015 J.D. Power Seat Quality and Satisfaction Study provides automotive manufacturers and suppliers with quality and satisfaction information related to automotive seating systems. New vehicle owners are asked to rate the quality of their vehicle’s seats and seat belts based on whether or not they experienced defects / malfunctions or design problems during the first 90 days of ownership.

The 2015 Seat Quality and Satisfaction Study is based on responses from 84,367 purchasers and lessees of new 2015 model-year cars and light trucks. The study was fielded from February through May 2015.
