NASCAR CEO And Wife Aim To Inspire Others With $1M Donation

Knowing that children and their families will be enriched by their efforts is the reward that has driven the couple to focus more on philanthropic efforts.

NASCAR - FamilyNew York philanthropists Amy France and her NASCAR CEO husband, Brian France, donated $1 million to the Providence Day School in Charlotte, North Carolina, where two of the France children currently attend. This most recent act of extraordinary generosity is typical of the way that the France family continues to support causes they believe in.

Amy and Brian France were recently featured for their philanthropy on ‘EXTRA’ and Yahoo!. Together, they started the Luke and Meadow Foundation in order to raise awareness about the charities that they believe in so they can help inspire others to contribute or participate. Contributing money to and raising awareness for charities are nothing new for the Frances, who are prolific in their commitment to helping worthy and wide-reaching causes. The couple says knowing that children and their families will be enriched by their efforts is the reward that has driven them to focus on philanthropic efforts.

What makes Providence Day School unique and special is that academic excellence is just one characteristic of the school. The school comments that personal integrity and social responsibility are just as important. In addition their donation to the school, the Frances have also recently:

  • Contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to ‘Stand Up For Heroes’ in support of post 9-11 injured service men, veterans and their families
  • Served as hosts for the annual Autism Speaks fundraising gala at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art
  • Made a significant donation to the Michael J. Fox Foundation and attended the organization’s annual “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Cure” Gala
  • Donated $50,000 to Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation for Cancer Research

“Improving the lives of youth, both our own and those of the community, is simply part of our DNA,” says Amy France. “As a mother, every child feels like a heartbeat away from my own and we want to do everything we can to positively impact America’s next generation.”
