MIAMI – In its second acquisition announced this week, National Performance Warehouse (NPW) has acquired Time Automotive Distributors’ Salt Lake City and Boise, Idaho, locations. This will be the third location NPW has added to its roster since the start of 2015.
Two months ago, NPW completed its purchase of Racer’s Equipment Warehouse in Rhode Island and earlier this week the company announced its deal with the Frank Edwards Co. While Frank Edwards has been around for a century, Time Distributors is relatively “young,” NPW said, having marked 50 years in business in 2014. The company operates from multiple facilities and the Salt Lake City facility will be consolidated into Frank Edward’s fully automated facility in West Valley City, Utah. This will allow the customers of both Frank Edwards and Time Automotive Distributors to be able to combine orders for a single delivery.
Time is a distributor of performance and truck accessories, which when combined with the traditional business of Frank Edwards will have the operation mirroring other NPW locations where customers can purchase virtually all their automotive needs, NPW says.
Larry Pacey, president and CEO of NPW, commented, “I can’t believe that businesses in two different categories in the same area became available as close in geography and time as this did. The ability to be able to consolidate facilities, systems and personnel really will help in making this territory very viable quickly. I hope some of our other irons in the fire result in the same kind of symmetry.”
In response to the deal, Time’s President Trent Lowe, stated, “It is tough to be just a regional player. We see as well as the folks at NPW that buying power, cost reductions, systems, having what sells and access to service customers across the continent are what it will take to thrive. I believe this a good move at the right time and look forward to being a part of the NPW team.”
The National Performance Warehouse Companies now operates 12 distribution centers in the U.S. and Canada: four facilities in Florida: Miami (two), Ft. Lauderdale, and Tampa; Ajax, Ontario, Canada; Warwick, Rhode Island; three facilities in California: Vernon, Sacramento and San Jose; and soon two in Salt Lake City, and one in Boise, Idaho.
