EnerSys Adds Group 34R Battery To ODYSSEY Performance Series

The ODYSSEY Performance Series 34R-790 battery features a reversed terminal layout, but includes all of the same specifications as its counterpart, the ODYSSEY Performance Series 34-790.

READING, Pa. – EnerSys has expanded its ODYSSEY Performance Series battery product offering to include the Group 34R battery, suitable for consumer passenger and commercial vans, custom and classic cars and SUVs. The ODYSSEY Performance Series 34R-790 battery features a reversed terminal layout, but includes all of the same specifications as its counterpart, the ODYSSEY Performance Series 34-790.

Delivering more overall power and longer service life than conventional batteries, the ODYSSEY Performance Series 34R-790 battery features 792 cold cranking amps and 114 reserve capacity minutes. Engineered with Thin Plate Pure Lead (TPPL) technology and an Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) construction, ODYSSEY Performance Series batteries provide rugged construction for high reliability and performance, according to EnerSys.

“A key benefit of ODYSSEY Performance Series batteries is that they can be installed in almost any position. The 34R-790 provides yet another option for mounting flexibility thanks to its reverse terminal layout,” said Dave McMullen, director of commercial marketing for specialty and UPS markets at EnerSys. “We are pleased to deliver increased convenience to customers with the addition of the ODYSSEY Performance Series 34R-790 battery.”

The ODYSSEY Performance Series 34R-790 battery features a three- to 10-year service life and two-year storage life at 77 degrees Fahrenheit (25 degrees Celsius). It is vibration-resistant, classified as “non-spillable” by the U.S. Department of Transportation and includes a limited four-year full replacement warranty. The ODYSSEY Performance Series 34R-790 battery corresponds to Battery Council International (BCI) Group 34R, and also comes standard with a height adapter to fit BCI Group 24F and Group 27F applications.
