NPW’s 24th Annual Golf Tournament Brings Out Local, Industry Personalities

The Club at Emerald Hills in Hollywood, Fla., hosted guests of National Performance Warehouse.

MIAMI – At its 24th annual golf tournament, Larry Pacey, CEO of National Performance Warehouse (NPW), took on all players on the “Beat the Boss” hole, the 150-yard par 3 hole No. 3. Pacey, an avid golfer himself, does this each year to ensure he gets to play with every guest.

Pacey said, “I wanted to do something so I could spend time with all players and this option lets me play a hole with each group. We have some real good golfers, and some not so good, but everyone has a great time. It’s a nice day to spend with customers, suppliers and employees outside of work. I think we all enjoy the break."

One hundred and twenty people made the NPW cut, including some customers like Jim’s Auto Parts, who have played in every NPW event for 24 straight years. Every year, the event attracts a celebrity or two and this year in the field was Julius Boros Jr., the son of two-time U.S. Open winner Julius Boros, who also had 18 PGA Tour wins. Last year, Champions Tour PGA pro Mike Donald played in the tournament.

Awards were presented at a post-event dinner for the longest drive, closest to the pin and straightest drive, as well as for the top three low scores. The winning low score was 14 under shot by the Speed Fanatix team, second place with a score of 59 was JapAuto and third place with a score of 60 was Jim’s Auto Parts. Gold sponsors of the event were Autometer, Dayco, Dorman Products and NGK Spark Plugs.

NPW’s Silver Anniversary Golf Tournament is scheduled for Sunday Dec. 7, 2014.
