WIX Filters Donates $48,650 To National FFA Chapters

Annual box-top redemption program supports FFA chapters for 27th consecutive year.

GASTONIA, N.C. – WIX Filters, a member of the Affinia Group family of brands, has awarded $48,650 to national FFA chapters in the United States through a box-top redemption fundraising program with the National FFA Organization.

Between January and April 2013, students in participating FFA chapters redeemed 174,605 WIX box tops for a donation from WIX of 25 cents per box top. In addition, five FFA chapters across the country each received a $1,000 bonus from WIX, bringing the total donation to just above $48,650.

“Our FFA box-top redemption program is one of our most popular fundraising programs of the year because it supports an industry in which we all rely – agriculture,” said Mike Harvey, brand manager for WIX Filters. “Our partnership with the FFA also provides the organization with much-needed funding for the education and training programs that support the industry’s future leaders.”

As part of the program’s incentives, FFA chapters competed for five $1,000 bonuses in different categories, including most box tops redeemed and most box tops redeemed per member. The five FFA chapters that earned a $1,000 bonus are:

* Sweet Grass Hills FFA, Sunburst, Mont.
* Spud Growers, Coudersport, Pa.
* Harmony FFA, St. Cloud, Fla.
* Caldwell FFS, Caldwell, Ohio
* Seymour FFA, Seymour, Tenn.

The National FFA Organization, formerly known as Future Farmers of America, is a national youth organization of more than 540,000 student members as part of nearly 7,500 local FFA chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. The FFA mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
