Johnson Controls Named 2012 Chrysler Supplier of the Year for Diversity Supplier Development

Automotive suppliers recognized for top performance.

PLYMOUTH, Mich. – Johnson Controls has been honored by Chrysler Group LLC with its 2012 Supplier of the Year Award in the Diversity Supplier Development category.

Top-performing suppliers were recognized during Chrysler’s Annual Meeting and Supplier Awards Ceremony held recently in Detroit. Award recipients were determined based on an evaluation of their performance in 2011. This Chrysler rating system evaluates supplier performance in areas such as quality, delivery, cost, warranty and partnership, as well as input from Chrysler Group senior leadership.

"It’s an honor to be recognized by the Chrysler Group as the Supplier of the Year in the Diversity Supplier Development category," said Jeff Williams, group vice president and general manager Customer Group Americas at Johnson Controls Automotive Experience. "We are committed to fostering a diverse supply base and working collaboratively to meet our customers’ needs."

"Johnson Controls has demonstrated extraordinary leadership in the area of supplier diversity," said Sig Huber, head of Supplier Relations and Mopar Purchasing at Chrysler Group. "Their corporate focus is demonstrated through executive engagement, a continuous improvement in their amount of purchases from minority companies and a commitment to mentoring the next generation of minority entrepreneurs."
