University Of The Aftermarket Aftermarket 101 Class

University Of The Aftermarket To Offer ‘Aftermarket 101’ Oct. 6-7 In Detroit

“Although we just completed an Aftermarket 101 program in May, we needed to add a second class because of overwhelming demand,” said University of the Aftermarket Director Brian Cruickshank. “The most recent class sold out in record time, and we had an extensive waiting list. I am glad that many companies are including this program as part of its formal new-employee orientation process.”

Northwood University - LogoNew employees often find the motor vehicle aftermarket to be a complex, confusing industry. In an effort to help them better understand the basics of this dynamic market, the University of the Aftermarket will present a second “Aftermarket 101” program this year on Oct. 6-7 in Detroit.

Aftermarket 101 is open to new hires in the motor vehicle aftermarket who want a better understanding of the aftermarket, its structure and some big-picture trends. During the day-and-a-half program, participants will be exposed to key information about the aftermarket, its history, scope, market channels, customers and trends. Presenters represent every level of the auto care industry supply chain.

Specific subjects addressed during the session include:

  • Industry basics, channels and terminology
  • History of the aftermarket
  • Current state of the industry
  • The global aftermarket
  • Distribution: Structure and trends
  • The world of the service dealer
  • Field trip to visit a traditional WD

Participants will receive 1.2 credits toward completion of their Automotive Aftermarket Professional (AAP) or Master Automotive Aftermarket Professional (MAAP) designations.

The program costs $700 and includes lunch and all materials. To register, simply visit universityoftheaftermarket.com, click “Course Calendar” and then choose the Oct. 6-7 “Aftermarket 101” program. Special rates are available to companies sending more than three employees. For more personal service and additional details, call 800-551-2881.
