EnerSys, Manufacturer Of ODYSSEY Batteries, Returns As Official Sponsor Of Don Schumacher Racing

As an associate sponsor, EnerSys has equipped the majority of DSR vehicles with ODYSSEY batteries since 2010.

US Army crew copy 2EnerSys, the global leader in stored energy solutions for industrial applications and the manufacturer of ODYSSEY batteries, is continuing as an associate sponsor of the 2016 Don Schumacher Racing (DSR) team.

As an associate sponsor, EnerSys has equipped the majority of DSR vehicles with ODYSSEY batteries since 2010. ODYSSEY batteries are designed with an Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) construction and Thin Plate Pure Lead (TPPL) technology for more engine-cranking power and reserve power than conventional batteries, the company says.

ODYSSEY batteries feature a three- to 10-year service life and two-year storage life at 77 degrees Fahrenheit (25 degrees Celsius). They are vibration-resistant, classified as “non-spillable“ by the U.S. Department of Transportation and include a limited two- to four-year full replacement warranty.

The ODYSSEY battery logo will appear on the sponsored DSR vehicles, as well as DSR transporters, technology trailers and many of the DSR driver uniforms.

“The confidence that an organization as renowned as the Don Schumacher Racing team has in ODYSSEY batteries is a testament to the battery’s quality and performance,” said Maria Orlando-Krick, marketing content and sponsorship manager at EnerSys. “We are honored to continue our sponsorship of DSR.”

“Over the years, our team has appreciated that these fuel motors need a reliable battery to start,” said Schumacher. “ODYSSEY batteries have never let us down and we know that they will help us deliver winning performances in 2016.”
