DETROIT Duncan Niederauer, former CEO, NYSE Euronext Inc., will deliver a keynote address at this year’s Remanufacturing and Sustainability Conference co-hosted by the Motor & Equipment Remanufacturers Association (MERA) and the Golisano Institute for Sustainability on Sept. 24 in Rochester, N.Y.
Niederauer will speak about “Leading in the Face of Disruptive Change and Industry Consolidation.” As CEO of NYSE Euronext, Niederauer transformed and grew the organization while navigating through the financial crisis, evolving market and regulatory conditions and industry consolidation. He also successfully negotiated and completed NYSE Euronext’s acquisition by Intercontinental Exchange Inc.
“We are very excited to have Duncan Niederauer join us as a keynote speaker,” said John Chalifoux, president and COO, MERA. “It should prove to be an insightful discussion on how the principles of effective leadership are common across sectors of the economy.”
Niederauer was previously a partner at The Goldman Sachs Group, where he held many positions, among them co-head of the Equities Division Execution Services franchise. His career at Goldman spanned 22 years. During that time, he served on the board of managers of Archipelago Holdings LLC. He also serves on the board of trustees of Colgate University and is a member of the G100, the British-American Business Council International Advisory Committee, the Partnership for New York City, the Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy, the Shanghai International Financial Advisory Committee, the Museum of American Finance and Fundacao Dom Cabral in Brazil.
The conference theme “Remanufacturing and the Drive to Sustainable Mobility” seeks to link remanufacturing with an organization’s overall sustainability strategy, raise awareness about the contributions of the remanufacturing industry and offer excellent networking opportunities. Speakers and panelists throughout the day will discuss key trends, best practices, and challenges and opportunities in remanufacturing and sustainability.
The MERA-Golisano conference precedes the World Remanufacturing Summit, which will begin on Sept. 25, also at the Rochester Institute of Technology.
