B&M Acquires Hurst Shifters from Mr. Gasket

CHATSWORTH, CA – B&M Companies, a manufacturer of racing and performance products, has acquired the Hurst Shifter Division of Mr. Gasket. Operations will be moved to B&M’s Chatsworth, CA, headquarters. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

According to one local report, Mr. Gasket Executive Vice President Dennis Rogers said about 26 jobs — 20 at Mr. Gasket’s Carson City, NV, plant and six at the company’s Cleveland, OH, facility — will be eliminated. Rogers said most of the jobs lost have been through attrition, which commonly follows a move such as this.

Other Mr. Gasket brands – Mallory Ignition, ACCEL Electronics and Hays Clutches, will not be affected.
