Women at the Wheel: Rebecca Conway

Conway is vice president, U.S./Canada Aftermarket Marketing at Clarios.

During the month of June, aftermarketNews will be presenting the esteemed 2024 Class of AMN’s Women at the Wheel. From trailblazers who have helped create departments and even entire companies, to those who ensure their office runs like a well-oiled machine, this year’s group of 26 is full of authentic leaders, each with a story to tell.

Mentorship and programming have united women throughout the aftermarket, serving as a springboard for them to enter the industry and grow their roles into successful careers. They are sparking change and driving results, together.

Today’s honoree is Rebecca Conway, vice president, U.S./Canada Aftermarket Marketing at Clarios.

How your aftermarket career began: I began my career in the aftermarket in 2010. I joined Clarios (Johnson Controls at the time) as a category manager. My role was to partner with our customers to grow their sales through insights derived from market and consumer data. Joining this industry was the best career choice I could have made.

Best advice to other women in the aftermarket: My best advice to women is to apply for the job or say yes to the opportunity even if you don’t meet 100% of the qualifications. As women, we underestimate our potential and hold ourselves back. Go for it and trust in your natural abilities. Also, be clear on what your goals are and make sure leaders in your organization know your goals. And don’t be afraid to be bold with your asks!

Industry support of women in the aftermarket: The growth of Women in Auto Care has been outstanding. I have seen an increase in the number of allies in our industry…who are supporting the development and promotion of women in their organizations. I have met so many amazing women through WiAC who have helped me grow.

In tomorrow’s edition of aftermarketNews, we’ll feature Lisa Coyle, CEO, Promotive and 360 Payment Solutions.
