DEARBORN, Mich. — Wolverine Advanced Materials, an EaglePicher company, has opened its new global headquarters and technical center in Dearborn, Mich. The 33,000-square-foot facility will also serve as the headquarters for EaglePicher Corp.
The headquarters will house administration offices for both companies, as well as research, development and testing operations and commercial sales and marketing for Wolverine.
The Dearborn technical center will develop sound damping and sealing solutions for Wolverine’s automotive original equipment and aftermarket customers, as well as noise damping innovations for the consumer electronics industry. Wolverine’s coating and manufacturing operations will remain in Blacksburg, Va. and Leesburg, Fla.
To expand its benchmark and validation capabilities, Wolverine has added a state-of-the-art, full-vehicle hemi-anechoic chamber that will allow the company to develop and evaluate elastomer-coated materials for solving customer-specific acoustic problems. The tech center will also feature a best-in-class brake noise dynamometer for optimized brake squeal testing. The new equipment can replicate the test conditions specified in all international brake NVH test standards, including SAE J2521. Wolverine will use the new dynamometer to validate the noise attenuation performance of its extensive portfolio of brake insulator materials.
"We are pleased to announce the grand opening of Wolverine’s expanded global headquarters and technical center," said Scott Koepke, president of Wolverine. "Our new central location will help us better support our core automotive customers, and our new testing and validation capabilities will help us further enhance our customers’ products."
All Wolverine and EaglePicher Corp. employees will move from the previous headquarters in Inkster, Mich., to the new location.
