This year will be the 29th year that Counterman magazine has named its Counter Professional of the Year, sponsored by WIX Filters.

Since 1985, Counterman magazine has honored the Counter Professional of the Year and we invite you to enter or nominate someone today.

The Counter Professional of the Year award recognizes an automotive aftermarket parts professional who goes above the call of duty; continually seeks out education for himself or herself; is an example of the consummate parts professional; and is an ambassador for the aftermarket. This year will be the 29th year that Counterman magazine has named its Counter Professional of the Year, sponsored by WIX Filters.

Finalists will be contacted by email and may be asked to respond to further essay questions.

In addition to industry-wide recognition for a job well done, the 2014 Counter Professional of the Year and a guest will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Las Vegas for AAPEX, including three nights at one of Las Vegas’ top hotel-casinos. Nominee must be ASE certified. Entries are now being accepted until July 1, 2014.

Do you speak spark plug? Most part numbers are a meaningless series of numbers and letters. But spark plugs have a language on the side of the box that can tell you what’s inside. Like any other language, there are dialects.

The nomenclature of spark plug part numbers can tell you everything from size (diameter and reach) to what materials are on the center and ground electrode. Like learning a new language, knowing how to translate spark plug numbers can open up a new way to inventory and sell spark plugs for counter professionals.
