BRUSSELS, Belgium — WABCO Holdings Inc., a global technology leader and tier-one supplier to the commercial vehicle industry, announced that its Brazilian division has been honored with ZF South America’s first Sustainability Award.
This new award acknowledges the supplier with the best performance in sustainable practices, as defined by ZF, a leading worldwide automotive supplier for driveline and chassis technology with production companies in 26 countries and headquartered in Germany.
To qualify for this special inaugural award, ZF’s suppliers must have environmental management systems certified as ISO 14001 compliant as well as Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) 18001 certification. In addition, suppliers must demonstrate strong results in at least four out of five areas that ZF defines as its sustainability pillars: environment, society, education, culture and sports.
"ZF encourages and promotes sustainable actions based on our company’s responsibility for society and the environment," said Kelen Reis, human resources director, ZF South America.
