Visteon Plant Earns EPA Honor

Visteon Corp.'s Sheldon Road manufacturing facility, located in Plymouth, Mich., has received recognition for its voluntary efforts to maintain a healthier and safer environment.

DEARBORN, MI — Visteon Corp.’s Sheldon Road manufacturing facility, located in Plymouth, Mich., has received recognition for its voluntary efforts to maintain a healthier and safer environment.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has recognized the facility as a member of its National Environmental Performance Track for exceeding environmental protection requirements. A voluntary program, the Performance Track recognizes facilities that consistently surpass legal environmental requirements and have implemented high-quality environmental management systems.

Visteon’s Sheldon Road facility has about 1,800 employees and produces climate control products, including heater and air conditioner assemblies, aluminum heater cores, aluminum radiators, heater and air-conditioner controls. The plant has received numerous environmental awards, including Michigan Clean Corporate Citizen certification since 1998. The plant has held membership in the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality’s Michigan Business Pollution Prevention Partnership since 1999, and has maintained a certified wildlife habitat area designated by the National Wildlife Habitat Council since 1995.
