A global tier one OEM supplier of fasteners and clamps for fluid power is seeking a Director of Sales Distribution Services. Our client is the world class leader of products for the automotive and general industries and is one of the world leading companies within its industry segment. The products of the company have an excellent reputation among its clients and are a benchmark for quality within its industry. They serve the automobile industry as well as industrial markets and technical businesses.
To achieve profitable sales volume and substantial market share in Distribution Services market sector this includes business-to-business and business-to-consumer segments. Responsible for planning and achieving sales growth in accordance with organizational strategy for Distribution Services market sector on a national level.
Primary Responsibilities (Other Duties May Be Assigned)
Directs and manages sales personnel (including hiring, training, expense budgets, and product or territory assignments).
Establishes priorities for activities. Aligns sales organization to fulfill market requirements.
Oversees and directs analysis of business opportunities via operational and financial research.
Evaluates competition, market share and growth.
Develops new sales territories for product distribution.
Formulates sales plans and achieves effective sales results according to segment and product lines.
Oversees the initiation of objectives, proposals, negotiations, and presentations consistent with branding (excluding the marketing function).
Performs outside direct sales activities with key customers, including customer development, team coaching, cross-selling with other regions, etc.).
Confers with leadership colleagues in Operations, Finance, HR, Sales, etc., to evaluate new business opportunities, assess potential of these opportunities, and develops projects for use in new initiatives. Builds and sustains similar relationships with other regions and HQ.
Formulates financial aspects of sales, working with strategy and detail, including pricing strategies, margins, budgets, and forecasts.
Puts processes in place with Operations that will best serve the Distribution Market in terms of pricing, production, inventory and production.
As a model of teamwork and collaboration, interacts with customer service function, order-taking function and product inventory functions to the extent that each of these are essential elements that interface with the sales organization.
