University of the Aftermarket Offers Two Online Summer Courses

Registration open through July 6 for 'Automotive Retail/Wholesale Management' and 'Aftermarket Policies and Procedures.'

MIDLAND, Mich. – The University of the Aftermarket’s 2009 summer term begins July 13 with two popular, industry-specific courses offered online to meet the needs of busy aftermarket professionals.
 
Registration is open through July 6 for each of the following courses:
 
Automotive Retail/Wholesale Management (AAM 205)
Focus: Organization, capitalization, layout, product lines, inventory control, purchasing, personnel, financial control and other management topics for the industry’s wholesale and retail segments. Participants will explore consumer-oriented marketing, including retail attitude, pricing and promotion, retail/wholesale combinations, identity and store image and the influence of aesthetics and design. Other areas of study include purchasing procedures, hiring/ personnel management and merchandising/display.
 
Aftermarket Policies and Procedures (AAM 212)
Focus: Sales strategy, research, administrative functions, legal angles, financial structure, credit and collections, government regulations and other policies and procedures. Additional topics include computer and information systems, advertising management, marketing plans, inventory and credit control, specialty and machine shop procedures, standard policies and operating procedures, specialty market penetration, legal and government regulations and use of computer-generated reports.
 
Each of the six-week online courses is valued at 3.0 continuing education units (CEU), which can be applied toward participants’ Automotive Aftermarket Professional (AAP) and Master Automotive Aftermarket Professional (MAAP) certificates. Developed in partnership with AAIA, AWDA, MEMA, and Northwood University, these certificates highlight the educational and professional achievements of each recipient and, by extension, demonstrate the resulting competitive advantage for employers and the aftermarket industry.
