MIDLAND, Mich. The University of the Aftermarket has established an alumni association to serve the professional and philanthropic interests of aftermarket participants.
The University of the Aftermarket Alumni Association will support a wide range of activities designed to serve industry professionals who have participated in one or more University courses as well as those who have achieved their Automotive Aftermarket Professional (AAP) or Master Automotive Aftermarket Professional (MAAP) certifications. Alumni Association events are also open to any aftermarket professional with an interest in pursuing continuing education through the University of the Aftermarket.
Robert Gracey, MAAP, senior vice president of sales for the Affinia Under Vehicle Group, has been selected as founding president of the Alumni Association, and Chuck Udell, MAAP, senior partner at Essential Action Design Group, was chosen as vice president. Both are working with University of the Aftermarket Director Brian Cruickshank, AAP, to develop association-sponsored programming and outreach initiatives. One tool immediately available to University of the Aftermarket alumni and friends is a news and networking page located on the popular www.Facebook.com social networking site. To access this page, simply establish a free Facebook.com account and then enter the search term “University of the Aftermarket.”
“This is the right time for a University of the Aftermarket Alumni Association,” Cruickshank said. “Interest in our programs is stronger than ever and there has been a groundswell of support for a collegiate-level networking platform like those available through the nation’s leading business schools. That’s what we will deliver through this new organization.”
