Universal Automotive Appoints Two New Managers

Universal Automotive Industries has appointed Larry Newman and Arnold Slutsky to managerial positions at the company's Autospecialty division. Newman joins Autospecialty's Undercar Products Group as sales team program group manager. Slutsky has been named purchasing manager at Autospecialty's Supply Chain division, based in Alsip, Ill.

ALSIP, IL — Universal Automotive Industries has appointed Larry Newman and Arnold Slutsky to managerial positions at the company’s Autospecialty division.

Newman joins Autospecialty’s Undercar Products Group as sales team program group manager. He brings more than 20 years of relevant experience to the company, most recently serving as director of sales at Tri-State Stores, an automotive retailer with 12 locations. His experience also includes store operations manager and vice president of sales and marketing for GMG Partners. During that time, he spent two years developing and managing the Parts Plus Program for GMG.

Slutsky has been named purchasing manager at Autospecialty’s Supply Chain division, based in Alsip, Ill. For the past 20 years, his career has been focused in automotive parts and distribution, sales, purchasing and account development. Previously, Slutsky was owner and CEO of his own auto parts importing and distribution center, and was a factory agent for a variety of overseas and international firms.

Headquartered in the Chicago area, Universal specializes in the distribution and manufacture of brake rotors and other brake parts under its trademarks UBP – Universal Brake Parts, Evolution and Ultimate in the U.S. and Canada. The company’s proprietary brands include Autospecialty, ValuMaxx and PowerStop. Universal Automotive Industries also provides TRW-branded brake rotors and drums and suspension products.
