Two Students Awarded Scholarships In Memory Of George Segal

"Our dad spent his career in the automotive aftermarket; he grew up in the business. He really enjoyed being with customers, suppliers and team members," said Bobby Segal, chief operating officer and treasurer of ASA/Sanel Auto Parts. "These scholarships are a fitting tribute to his memory and an investment in the future of the industry."

University-of-the-Aftermarket-Foundation-LogoTwo students have been selected as recipients of scholarships awarded in honor of George Segal, chairman of ASA/Sanel, who passed away in August 2014.

Recipients of the $1,000 scholarship awards from the University of the Aftermarket Foundation are:

  • Nicholas Conti of Falconer, New York — attending Alfred State in the automotive service technician program
  • Michael deMontigny of Frenchville, Maine — attending Northern Maine Technical College in the diesel hydraulics program

Additional scholarship funding comes from industry contributions provided by individuals, companies and foundations. Contributions can be made payable to the University of the Aftermarket Foundation, c/o Susan Medick at the Auto Care Association, and sent to 7101 Wisconsin Ave., Suite 1300, Bethesda, Maryland 20814.
