TRW Vehicle Safety Systems Achieves ISO/TS Certifications

TRW Vehicle Safety Systems has achieved the International Standards Organization (ISO)/Technical Specification (TS) 16949 quality management certification for its airbag manufacturing operations in Mesa, Ariz. This specification aligns existing automotive quality system requirements within the global automotive industry. It also specifies the quality system requirements for the design, development, production, installation and servicing of automotive-related products.

MESA, AZ — TRW Vehicle Safety Systems has achieved the International Standards Organization (ISO)/Technical Specification (TS) 16949 quality management certification for its airbag manufacturing operations in Mesa, Ariz.

This specification aligns existing automotive quality system requirements within the global automotive industry. It also specifies the quality system requirements for the design, development, production, installation and servicing of automotive-related products.

BSI, an accredited independent auditing firm for ISO/TS registration worldwide, conducted the audit. Livonia, Mich.-based TRW Automotive is working to certify to this standard at all its manufacturing facilities worldwide.

TRW Vehicle Safety Systems designs, develops and manufactures driver, passenger, side-impact, roll-over curtain, knee bolster and air belt inflators and modules for automotive manufacturers in North America.
