Transtar Renews Decades-Long Partnership With Freudenberg-NOK

Transtar says extending this long-term partnership ensures transmission builders have access to high-quality rebuild kits.

Transtar Industries has renewed its decades-long partnership with Freudenberg-NOK, the OE manufacturer that engineers and delivers TransTec sealing kits to the aftermarket. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Acording to Transtar, this continued collaboration provides a commitment to the company and its customers, promoting good faith and growth within the transmission aftermarket and ensures shops will continue to have access to the popular TransTec-Transtar co-branded sealing kits.

Headquartered in Weinheim, Germany, Freudenberg Sealing Technologies is a longstanding technology expert and market leader in sealing technology worldwide. With its unique materials and technology expertise, the company is a proven supplier for demanding products and applications, as well as a development and service partner to customers in the automotive industry. Freudenberg-NOK Sealing Technologies, a joint venture between Freudenberg and NOK Corp. in Japan is headquartered in Plymouth, Michigan, and operates more than 20 facilities across the Americas, including the TransTec brand global lead center in Milan, Ohio. Transtar says it is proud to be a distributor of the company’s transmission-related products.

The two companies said this partnership is the launching point of a larger initiative to expertly and jointly serve production rebuilders and transmission shops. Freudenberg-NOK’s continued focus to accelerate the development of TransTec overhaul kits for late-model applications supports Transtar’s dedication to stocking these kits for rebuilders. Under the terms of the new agreement, Transtar says it will provide all new kit applications offered by TransTec, with a 60-day “pre-launch” exclusivity period on every new kit.

“Freudenberg-NOK is one of our longest-standing partners and I could not be more pleased with our renewed spirit of commitment to ensuring the transmission industry thrives both today and well into the future. We are looking forward to many more years of working together,” said Transtar CEO Neil Sethi.

Echoing Sethi’s enthusiasm, Vice President of Supply Chain Kevin Rozsa commented, “The combined expertise of both companies will benefit transmission rebuilders for years to come. We recognize the importance of offering the highest-quality parts to help prevent comebacks – and in continuing to partner with Freudenberg-NOK, we are achieving just that.”

Jason Meier, CEO of Freudenberg-NOK’s aftermarket group, added, “When the TransTec brand was founded over 40 years ago, it was our mission to provide the independent aftermarket with the highest-quality, most complete kits with the broadest available coverage. Our 30-year relationship with Transtar has contributed in many ways to accomplishing this mission. As we look to the future, we are excited to build upon our partnership and are determined to bring even more innovative solutions to the market.”
