Transtar Industries Acquires D & E Automotive

Just last week, Transtar also announced its acquisition of Cadco Products.

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Transtar Industries announced that it has acquired the assets of D & E Automotive, a supplier of original equipment (OE) and aftermarket transmission replacement parts. The combined entity will be based at Transtar’s current home office in the Cleveland suburb of Walton Hills, Ohio. Just last week, Transtar also announced its acquisition of Cadco Products.

Transtar is a global manufacturer and distributor of quality driveline parts and services to the motor vehicle replacement parts industry. The company distributes a product line consisting of automatic and standard transmission units, rebuilder kits and components, Recon remanufactured torque converters and hard parts and other driveline solutions.

“We are very excited about this acquisition, and what it means to our company, our customers and our industry,” said Greg Gyllstrom, CEO of Transtar. “Our organizations have shared the same values, and we look forward to combining forces in order to better serve even more customers.”

Howard Tenebaum, owner of D & E Automotive stated, “I have had tremendous respect for Transtar over the years. We are both based on a very customer-centric philosophy, and I anticipate a smooth transition for both our customers and employees.”

Transtar’s distribution network consists of more than 70 locations in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico, and an international division that serves a global network of aftermarket automotive distributors in 80 countries. D & E has six locations throughout the Midwest.

“We are now able to offer our diverse and comprehensive product line to a broader customer base,” said Neil Sethi, president of Transtar’s Driveline Distribution Group. “D & E customers will have access to products previously unavailable to them, such as complete transmission units, standard parts and differential kits and components.”

“The sum of the parts is truly greater than the whole in this situation,” Gyllstrom continued. “We have already begun to implement plans to leverage the best of these two industry-leading organizations to give our customers the best service and most comprehensive product line in the industry.”
