BOWLING GREEN, KY — Tower Automotive said it will eliminate 67 jobs from its Bowling Green facility by moving production to a plant in Tennessee. The company will shift production of its suspension-link-arm business to Milan, Tenn., said Tower spokeswoman Bev Pierce.

The affected employees were informed Monday, and the company will meet with them to help them find new jobs.

The layoffs are expected to be complete by October when production moves to Milan, which currently employs 331 people and produces a variety of automotive products, including control arms, engine cradle assemblies, heavy truck stampings, side rails and welded assemblies.

The Bowling Green plant will retain 17 jobs in the painting and coating operations. However, some of the remaining employees will need to switch positions in the company, Pierce said Monday.
