Three New Executive Appointments at Advance

Advance appoints new senior VP of finance; new VP of energy and facilities management and new regional VP for Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

ROANOKE, Va. – Advance Auto Parts has announced the promotion of Judd Nystrom to senior vice president, finance. Nystrom will be responsible for Finance Decision Support, Planning and Performance Management and Investor Relations. Nystrom will partner with the business to develop strategic and financial plans and to identify opportunities to accelerate growth and improve profitability. Nystrom will continue to report to Mike Norona, executive vice president and chief financial officer and will be based in Minneapolis, Minn.
 
Nystrom joined Advance in February 2008 as vice president, finance and investor relations. Prior to joining Advance, Nystrom spent six years at Best Buy with a broad range of experiences within finance, including enterprise financial accounting and control and finance decision support for U.S. Stores, field leadership, store labor and real estate. At Best Buy, he ultimately served as senior director, retail finance, supporting U.S. stores and retail store support. Prior to that, Nystrom spent seven years at Carlson Companies Inc. with increasing responsibilities, ultimately serving as the director of accounting and reporting. Nystrom holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management and is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive), a Certified Management Accountant, and Certified in Financial Management.

Additionally, Advance has announced the promotion of Steve Eddings to the position of vice president, energy and facilities management. Eddings will be responsible for the strategic oversight and leadership of all facilities and energy functions for the company including more than 3,400 stores, the store support center and all regional offices. Eddings will continue reporting to Randy Young, senior vice president, real estate and will be based in Roanoke, Va.

Eddings joined Advance in March 2007 as director, facilities management. Prior to joining Advance, he served as vice president, facilities/energy for Hollywood Entertainment Corp. from 2002 to 2006. Prior to Hollywood Entertainment, Eddings served as director, facilities/energy for CKE Restaurants Inc. from 1997 to 2002.

Advance Auto Parts also announced the appointment of Kurt Marzolf to regional vice president. Marzolf will be responsible for the leadership of all store operations in parts of Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Marzolf will report to Derrick Thomas, senior vice president, store operations and will be based in Columbus, Ohio.

Marzolf joins Advance from Enterprise Rent-a-Car where he served in multiple roles with increasing responsibilities. Most recently, he served as a regional vice president for the company in Miami, Fla. Prior to this role, Marzolf served as a sales director for Enterprise in both Florida and California. Marzolf holds a bachelor of fine arts in media arts from the University of Arizona.
