According to respondents on the Counterman magazine Professional Automotive Repair Technician Survey (P.A.R.T.S), a low percentage of shops (6 percent) stock clutch kits, which is correlated to a low median number of jobs performed monthly (one, on average). However, when they’re needed, they’re needed, and shops responding to the survey say availability, fast delivery and a knowledgeable counter staff are top reasons they rely on their "first call."
This category also has one of the lowest numbers of sources for shops (2.2 on average), meaning, once they chose a source, they tend to stick with it.
