The Parts House Acquires Florida Automotive Distributing

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Parts House (TPH) has acquired the aftermarket assets of Tampa-based Florida Automotive Distributing (FAD) from the Suburban Florida Accessory Center LLC of Michigan.

“FAD’s wide, varied customer base complements TPH’s existing geographic footprint, while the additional locations gained as part of the acquisition will help enhance service in several of our company’s existing key markets,” said David Honig, president and CEO of TPH. “TPH’s established team will also benefit from the addition of FAD’s experienced associates, which will lead to even greater service to our Parts Plus Car Care Center locations and ACDelco Professional Service Centers.”

A Jacksonville-based Parts Plus member of the Network, TPH will distribute its complete product offering to FAD customers while continuing to support some of FAD’s key lines. Specifically, TPH plans to extend FAD’s chemical and lubricant program throughout the company. TPH says it also will maintain the former FAD locations in Tampa, St. Petersburg, Winter Haven and Ft. Myers, servicing those stores from its Jacksonville and Largo distribution centers.

Federated Auto Parts Distributors announced it is entering into a collaboration with the Association of Independent Oil Distributors (AIOD) – one it said will focus on mutual benefits for the respective members.

“Federated is constantly looking at ways to improve value for all constituents and this agreement provides that,” said Sue Godschalk, president of Federated. “This collaboration provides added volume and opportunities for our suppliers, new partners for our members, and added supply points and products for shop customers. We have enjoyed working closely with several AIOD members in the past and this agreement will expand and create further opportunities for both Federated and AIOD.”
