The Marx Group Hires Leslie Maxwell

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. — The Marx Group has announced the addition of Leslie Maxwell to its agency staff, effective June 2008. Maxwell will serve in a dual role as client manager and public relations (PR) manager for existing and new clients. She will work from a satellite office in Nashville, Tenn.

Maxwell will work closely with The Marx Group team to develop strategic marketing plans, concepts and public relations programs. She has more than 12 years experience in the specialty aftermarket providing public relations and account service to many of the top performance, restoration and appearance product companies. Maxwell has worked with K&N, Mr. Gasket Co., MAHLE Motorsport, AMP Research, Rancho, Cherry Bomb and others. As a seasoned professional she has assisted in the launch of new companies, divisions and products; all with a wide range of marketing budgets and goals.

Maxwell’s special forte is media relations, event management, account service and market strategy. She has a record of developing successful advertising and PR campaigns that are supported by her long-term relationships with the automotive press and industry leaders.

Maxwell most recently served as the public relations director and chief copywriter for Martin & Co. Advertising, prior to her position as public relations director for Burroughs & Associates Advertising.

Tom Marx, president and CEO of The Marx Group, said, “Leslie is recognized in the automotive aftermarket as the quintessential ‘go to’ person for ‘make it happen’ public relations, and on target marketing consultation. As a seasoned aftermarket marketing communications professional, she has an excellent grasp of the necessary steps to help our clients grow their business. She is a strong asset to our existing staff and we greatly appreciate her energy and enthusiasm.”

Gary McCoy continues as PR director, and Kerri Petersen expands her role as vice president of creative and marketing services for The Marx Group.
