The Alliance again made it into our recap of the week’s top news following WIX’s announcement that it received the Outstanding Parts Master Vendor Award from Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance and was honored with two additional supplier awards for Outstanding Shipping Performance for both the WIX Filters and Parts Master product lines manufactured by WIX. The award ceremony was held during the Alliance’s 2011 Winter Meeting on Dec. 6 in Aventura, Fla.
In other top news this week, Bosal, a global manufacturer of exhaust systems and components, announced the opening of its new aftermarket headquarters and warehouse in Budd Lake, N.J. The new facility is substantially larger than the company’s former Whippany, N.J., location and encompasses more than 100,000 square feet. The new facility will house the company’s administrative, financial, customer service and logistical departments. It also functions as one of the company’s three key distribution points in the U.S.
Winners of the AAPEX New Product Showcase got a second 15 minutes of fame this week. AAPEX organizers released the names of this year’s winners, which were originally announced on Nov. 1 in Las Vegas, after more than 3,600 votes by pre-registered AAPEX buyers. Prior to AAPEX, buyers reviewed entries displayed in the online 2011 AAPEX Product Extra and voted for their favorite new products in nine categories. To see the complete list of winners, click here.
In the manufacturing segment this week, Federal-Mogul announced the introduction of a new line of MOOG complete strut assemblies, engineered to improve vehicle dynamics, provide a smoother ride, last longer and install easily. New MOOG complete strut assemblies are available now for hundreds of popular late-model foreign nameplate and domestic passenger cars and light trucks, according to the company.
