LAKE FOREST, IL — Lois Boyd has been appointed vice president and general manager of Tenneco Automotive’s commercial vehicle segment and global program management.

In her new role, Boyd will be responsible for the company’s growth in the commercial vehicle business. She will direct efforts to leverage Tenneco’s global engineering and manufacturing strengths to expand the business with commercial vehicle customers and in new specialty markets.

“The commercial vehicle market is a strategic growth area for Tenneco, driven by new emissions standards and an increasing demand for better vehicle handling and ride comfort,” said Mark Frissora, chairman and CEO, Tenneco Automotive. “We are intensifying our focus on this segment by establishing a business unit solely dedicated to building on our presence in this growing market. Lois brings outstanding leadership to our commercial vehicle business, which will benefit from her extensive background in marketing, program management and global operations.”

Since 2000, Boyd has been serving as vice president of global program management for Tenneco. She has played a key role in instituting a more integrated and global approach to the company’s original equipment business by implementing new systems and processes and developing global engineering and sales initiatives. She has been instrumental in the success of Tenneco Automotive’s Project Genesis, a global restructuring initiative that has generated $30 million in annual savings by improving manufacturing and distribution efficiency worldwide.

Boyd joined Tenneco Automotive in 1997 as business unit director for the Ford Motor Co. business in North America. Subsequently she was named vice president for the Ford business, responsible for all product lines and distribution supporting the customer globally. Boyd has been in the vehicle industry since 1980. Before joining Tenneco, she held marketing and sales positions with Vickers, including sales to the heavy duty market and working directly with engine manufacturers.

Lois Boyd is on the company’s senior management team and will continue to report to Chairman and CEO Mark Frissora. She will remain located at the company’s North American original equipment headquarters in Monroe, Mich.
