Vehicle Deaths Down 1 Percent In First Half Of 2017
An estimated 18,680 people have been killed on U.S. roads since January, and 2.1 million were seriously injured. The total estimated cost of these deaths and injuries is $191 billion, according to the National Safety Council.
National Safety Council: Vehicle Miles Are Up, And So Are Fatalities
The National Safety Council has released preliminary data for 2016 showing that 40,200 people died in motor vehicle crashes last year. If that number holds, it will mark the deadliest year on the nation’s roads since 2007.
