VAN NUYS, Calif. Superior Industries International has announced that Michael Bakaric has been appointed to the newly created position of vice president, Midwest operations.
Bakaric reports directly to Michael O’Rourke, Superior’s executive vice president of sales, marketing and operations. He will oversee all aspects of the company’s manufacturing operations in the Midwest region, including process and control, infrastructure enhancements, quality and personnel.
"Michael is an experienced operations executive and plant manager who brings to Superior a track record of successfully driving growth and efficiency, reducing costs and launching new products,” said Steven Borick, chairman, president and CEO. “We welcome Michael to our team and look forward to his contributions.”
Bakaric most recently served as president of Pace Industries’ aluminum die castings division in Harrison, Ark., and was vice president of its magnesium die castings division in Auburn, Ala. Previously, he was plant manager for Danaher Tool Group and earlier held a number of positions with Lear Corp. and Ford Motor Co., including as operations and plant manager, as well as engineering and facilities manager.
Bakaric earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Eugene Lang College and a master’s degree in manufacturing engineering from Wayne State University. He is also a graduate of the U.S. Naval Nuclear Power School, having studied nuclear engineering technology and becoming a licensed nuclear power plant supervisor.
