CHAGRIN FALLS, OH — Stride Tool, Inc., a manufacturer of specialty hand tools has named a new CEO. Ron Ortiz will replace company founder Lori Northrup, who will continue as chairman of the board of Stride Tool.
Northrup, who has served as CEO since 1980, is leaving the company to focus on other business ventures with her husband.
Ortiz joins Stride Tool from Midtronics, a privately held management technology firm based in Chicago. Prior to that he served as president of the aftermarket tool and equipment group at SPX, a Fortune 500 company. Ortiz was also president at Sun Electric, which was sold to Snap-On Tools in 1992. He as been a member of the Stride Tool board of directors since 2002.
Ortiz, along with Stride Tool President Gary Medved and CFO Peg Adams, will form the company’s new executive management team.
