CONNERSVILLE, Ind. — Stant Corp., global manufacturer of fuel and cooling system components, closure caps, on-board vapor recovery components and cooling components, has announced it will expand operations at its Connersville, Ind., manufacturing facility.
Stant plans to invest significant capital in its 205,000-square-foot manufacturing facility at its world headquarters in Connersville to upgrade and outfit the plant for a new production line. Improvements to infrastructure will begin this month. Hiring of new employees will begin later this year to correspond with equipment arrival and installation.
The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered Stant performance-based tax credits and training grants based on job creation plans and implementation. Additionally, the City of Connersville and Fayette County will provide incentives for the company’s expansion.
“We are delighted to be growing here in Connersville, Fayette County and in the state of Indiana,” said Curt Howell, Stant president and CEO. “The pro-business attitude and swift attention to the needs of our industry were major factors for our decision. The people of this community have been loyal to us and have been a big part of our global leadership position in our products and technologies. We look forward to many more years of sustained, profitable growth.”
Stant announced in May that it was awarded one of the largest single contracts in the company’s 113-year history by a major customer to manufacture carbon canisters. In addition to the Connersville, Ind., facility, Stant’s production operations in Romeoville, Ill.; Romeo, Mich.; Pine Bluff, Ark.; Tijuana, Mexico; Karvina, Czech Republic; Wuhan, China; and Suzhou, China, were under consideration to build the carbon canisters.
