SMP Introduces TechSmart Brand

According to SMP, TechSmart is designed for professional service technicians and enhances OE products with problem-solving improvements. The brand also introduces new categories and provides cutting-edge technology with "speed to the street" that will include many first-to-market parts, the company says.

LONG ISLAND CITY, N.Y. – SMP, independent manufacturer, distributor and marketer of automotive aftermarket replacement parts, has added the TechSmart brand to its family of engine management products.

According to SMP, TechSmart is designed for professional service technicians and enhances OE products with problem-solving improvements. The brand also introduces new categories and provides cutting-edge technology with “speed to the street” that will include many first-to-market parts, the company says.

TechSmart parts are complementary to the SMP core product offering. The initial launch features 119 parts in 28 categories.

Taking advantage of SMP’s experience, the TechSmart brand encompasses SMP’s innovation and engineering expertise with superior product quality and competitive pricing, according to the company. The qualities that have made SMP the industry leader for more than 90 years will be at the heart of every TechSmart part, the company says.

“TechSmart provides smart solutions to today’s professional service technicians by bringing these products to market swiftly while improving on existing OE problem parts,” said Mike Fitzgerald, vice president of marketing for SMP. “Every time a technician installs a TechSmart part, it means the problem is solved.”

One example of the problem-solving features in the TechSmart offering, is its Chrysler EGR transducer line. By providing the transducer separately from the EGR valve assembly, technicians will no longer need to replace the entire assembly if only the transducer fails; saving them time and labor by only replacing the problem component, according to SMP.
