HOLLAND, MI — Sloan Transportation Products, a supplier of heavy truck and trailer products, has announced the recipients of the first Northwood University Heavy-Duty Scholarships. In August, Sloan established two $1,000 annual scholarships for qualified Northwood University students.
Matthew Dorr, junior from Hemlock, Mich., and Richard Ender, a senior from Portage, Mich., will each receive a $1,000 scholarship for the 2004-2005 academic year.
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be enrolled in the university’s Automotive Aftermarket Management curriculum’s Heavy Duty Management program or the Heavy Duty Vehicle Technology program. Scholarship recipients must also be U.S. citizens with demonstrated financial need, who are maintaining a 2.5 cumulative grade point average.
Other criteria include participation in three campus or community-related activities and demonstration of career interest. The recipient must remain enrolled full time for the full academic year and maintain measurable academic progress.
