SKF And ArcelorMittal Sign Framework Agreement

The multi-year agreement sees SKF supplying steel mills across 14 countries in Europe and Northern Africa.

SKF and ArcelorMittal have signed a multi-year framework agreement. As part of the agreement, SKF will supply ArcelorMittal with bearings, bearing units, seals and remanufacturing services across 14 countries in Europe and Northern Africa. SKF also will provide ArcelorMittal with total-cost-of-ownership (TCO) savings studies, validating the realized value generated from its products and services.

Erik Nelander, president, Industrial Sales, EMEA, said, “Through a long-term process of documenting and validating the savings generated by our products, we have been able to illustrate the value of working with SKF. Our application engineering knowledge and local presence – both directly and through our authorized distributors – positions us well to continue to support ArcelorMittal in improving the performance of their operations.”

The framework agreement covers the sale, maintenance and replacement of standard bearings and units, roll neck bearings and seals. SKF also will be able to recommend and carry out remanufacturing of bearings, reducing costs and supporting ArcelorMittal’s ambitions to reduce its carbon footprint and develop a circular economy.
