SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The California/Nevada/Arizona Automotive Wholesalers’ Association (CAWA) has announced the recipients of its 2008 Memorial Scholarship Program. The following selected students will each receive funds toward their 2008-2009 academic year.
The following students were selected this year:
Cameron Knight, of Carson City, Nev., who will be attending UTI/Carson City was selected to receive the Mort Schwartz award, which is the highest award granted and is named after the scholarship program’s founder and former CAWA Chairman, Mort Schwartz.
Other recipients include:
Brandon Hall, San Diego, Calif., WyoTech, Sacramento
Lucas Schwyter, San Lorenzo, Calif., UTI/Chabot Community College
Larry Shields, Las Vegas, Nev., McPherson College, (Kansas)
Ryan Renfrow, Redding, Calif., Northwood University
Robert Itule, Tucson, Ariz., UTI/Phoenix
"Not only are we pleased to be awarding six scholarships this year, we are pleased that we are awarding them to deserving students from each state CAWA represents, this being our first year for Arizona," said CAWA Scholarship Task Force Chair Borise Cota of Akebono.
