FRANKFURT — German engineering giant Siemens plans to cut around 950 jobs in its information technology services unit SBS, which employs some 36,000 people worldwide and just over 16,000 in Germany, a group spokesman said Monday.
The job-cutting plans, which were submitted to employee representatives last week, would affect only Germany, the spokesman said.

Alcoa Corporation announced today that William F. Oplinger has been elected to serve as President and CEO of the company and as a member of its board of directors. Oplinger succeeds Roy C. Harvey, effective September 24, 2023, who will serve as strategic advisor to the CEO until the end of this year.
