ShowMeTheParts Launches New Searching Experience

ShowMeTheParts Launches New Searching Experience

The company says it welcomes feedback on this enhanced user experience.

Vertical Development, parent company of ShowMeTheParts, said it did not come as a major surprise to to hear that certain part types are difficult to find on ShowMeTheParts.com.

As a result, the company has launched a new and improved search experience. If you are looking for a filter or brake pad the category search is obvious; it is Filters or Brake Pads and Shoes. If you are looking for a “Transmission Oil Cooler” it gets more challenging.

“While we have worked hard over the last year to reduce the number of categories by 50%, it still did not provide the best user experience,” the company said. “So, we dug into our SQL statements, did some rewrites, added a couple of indexes, and created a solution that we dare say is a game changer in terms of user experience of ShowMeTheParts.com. Now, after you have selected the year/make/model, the next selection will be based on all the available part types for that vehicle. Now if you type in OIL, you will get a list of parts that have the word OIL in it anyplace such as an OIL COOLER HOSE. “

After you pick your part type, and the engine if necessary, now you will get a list of parts matching that part type and everything else in that category.

Looking for the Connector, just click on that part type and your list is updated to that specific part you need.

It is really that simple.

CCC Intelligent Solutions Inc. (CCC) announced it has published its 2024 Crash Course Report, which indicates that increasing vehicle complexity, combined with rising labor costs and shortages, are placing persistent pressure on both insurers and repairers.

New findings show that while vehicles may be safer, more capable of avoiding crashes and more environmentally friendly, advanced technology is contributing to costlier repairs, higher claims costs and longer cycle times. Additional factors, such as scheduling backlogs, have contributed to the 60% increase in the amount of time it takes for vehicles to enter repair shops after estimate completion, compared to pre-pandemic times.
