Automaker will spend $483 million to build next-generation Ecotec engine and current engines.
JAC and Navistar to Produce and Market Commercial Trucks and Diesel Engines in China
Through engine JV, Navistar and JAC will establish a research and design center in China’s Anhui Province for application engineering development, product design and technology advancements. A dedicated manufacturing facility will be constructed in Hefei, Anhui Province of China to produce JAC and the Navistar-designed MaxxForce brand diesel engines. The truck joint venture will build vehicles at an existing 800,000-square-foot JAC manufacturing facility dedicated to medium and heavy duty trucks.

The bill provides for $12 billion in tax breaks to businesses to encourage investment and hiring, and would allow businesses to write off more of their equipment buying or improvement costs. The self-employed could deduct health-care costs from the self-employment tax under the bill.

NUCAP Expands in China
Due to rapid growth in sales of its disc brake backing plate, NRS and shims, NUCAP China says it has outgrown its current 40,000-square-foot facility, and as a result has moved to a new 135,000-square-foot facility. The new location is in the same Jiading district of Shanghai in which it currently resides. NUCAP plans to begin occupying the new facility in October.
SPX Service Solutions to Develop New Vehicle Interface Module for Toyota
The new VIM, to be based on SPX proprietary vehicle communication interface technology, will be developed as a global tool and utilized as an approved diagnostic repair solution for Toyota dealers. The announcement was made at the Automechanika 2010 trade show taking place this week in Frankfurt, Germany.
