MEMPHIS, TN — SBC Communications Inc. recently honored Parts Plus for outstanding achievement in Technical Innovation. SBC recognized Parts Plus for its efforts in developing an integrated solution for Internet-based ordering and billing of motor-vehicle parts for the telecommunications company’s automotive-business customers.
According to Mike Lambert, president of Parts Plus, the group worked with SBC to develop its online ordering capabilities, using the Parts Plus WebShop program. “Parts Plus co-developed this new process with SBC, resulting in increased mechanic productivity throughout the West and the Midwest,” said Lambert.
Through its annual Supplier Recognition Awards, SBC salutes selected supply-chain partners for outstanding performance and exceptional service. In addition to Parts Plus, SBC also recognized 38 other top companies, including Lucent Technologies, IBM Global Financing and EQUIS.
