S.A. Day Mfg. Co. President Steps Down After Nearly Five Decades

After a career that has spanned nearly five decades, Paul Conn, president of the S.A. Day Manufacturing Co., has announced his retirement. Conn stepped down from his post on Oct. 1. Jackson (Jay) Bowling will be taking over as president at S.A. Day. The S.A. Day Mfg. Co., Inc. is an ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001 certified manufacturer of flux for the soldering of copper/brass and flux for the soldering and brazing of aluminum heat exchangers.

BUFFALO, NY — After a career that has spanned nearly five decades, Paul Conn, president of the S.A. Day Manufacturing Co., has announced his retirement. Conn stepped down from his post on Oct. 1. Jackson (Jay) Bowling will be taking over as president at S.A. Day.

The S.A. Day Mfg. Co., Inc. is an ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001 certified manufacturer of flux for the soldering of copper/brass and flux for the soldering and brazing of aluminum heat exchangers.

Conn started his career in industrial sales with the company in 1956. He was appointed vice president in 1963, executive vice president in 1979 and finally president in 1984. Over the years, Conn was responsible for the development of many leading -edge products used to solder or braze automotive heat exchangers. He also had worked extensively with the plating industry setting up some of the most innovative plating installations at the time.

Conn has been honored with a number of industry awards over the years, including:

* National Automotive Radiator Service Association’s (NARSA) International Award in recognition of outstanding contributions to NARSA, 1992

* NARSA’s Paul Shapiro Patron Award – one of the Association’s most prestigious awards, in recognition of outstanding support and enlightened leadership, 2001.

* Strathmore’s Who’s Who for Industry – in recognition for leadership & achievement in their occupation, industry and profession, 2002.
