The 2013 Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl, featuring a Pac-12 team against the top selection from the Mountain West, will be played at 12:30 p.m. PT (3:30 p.m. ET) on Saturday, Dec. 21. The game will be held at Sam Boyd Stadium and also televised nationally on ABC.
“Today marks a wonderful new partnership between our bowl, our city and Royal Purple,” said Dan Hanneke, Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl Executive Director. "Our event will only continue to grow with the addition of a great title sponsor and we can’t wait for the 22nd edition of the game, which is now just three months away.”
Royal Purple, which is located in Porter, Texas, produces a wide range of high performance lubricants for nearly every consumer and industrial application.
“Royal Purple has always been a supporter of collegiate athletics and we are excited to be partnering with the tradition of the Las Vegas Bowl,” said Bryan Yourdon, president of Royal Purple. “The Pac-12 vs. Mountain West matchup has proved to be a great rivalry that has delivered high TV ratings and competitive games. We knew this was an event that Royal Purple wanted to support as it allows us to maximize our brand awareness with the viewers of the game.”
Last year’s edition which attracted 33,217 fans to Sam Boyd Stadium earned the third-highest TV rating in the game’s history as No. 15 Boise State defeated first-time visitor Washington 28-26. It marked the eighth consecutive year that the game attracted a crowd of more than 32,000.
