RMA Publishes Revised Tire Replacement Guidelines

The Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA) has published revised tire replacement guidelines in its new eight-page manual, Replacement Guidelines for Passenger and Light Truck Tires. The manual contains industry-recommended guidelines and safety information tire professionals can use when replacing passenger and light truck tires (through load range E).

WASHINGTON — The Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA) has published revised tire replacement guidelines in its new eight-page manual, Replacement Guidelines for Passenger and Light Truck Tires.

The manual contains industry-recommended guidelines and safety information tire professionals can use when replacing passenger and light truck tires (through load range E).

RMA’s guide includes information on topics such as: selecting replacement tires for a vehicle, tire mixing, replacing fewer than four tires, plus sizing and wheel selection, as well as tire size, pressure, load and speed ratings.

The publication also includes a supplement, showing standards tables for approved wheel widths, LT load/inflation and obsolete data.

A sample manual and supplement can be downloaded and printed from the “Publications” area of the RMA Web site, located at www.rma.org. Printed copies are available for purchase online or via phone at 800-325-5095 x242.
